Three bandits and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State, CSP Muhammad Sani-Kabir, have died during a gun battle.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aliyu Abubakar, disclosed this via a statement issued on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Abubakar disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Friday when some suspected bandits, armed with dangerous weapons shooting sporadically, attacked Magaje village, Rimi LGA, and rustled a number of animals and escaped the scene before the arrival of police operatives.
Abubakar stated: “Upon receipt of the report, quickly, the DPO Rimi, in collaboration with neighbouring divisions, and the Military, mobilised operatives and responded to the scene.
