Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its gantry price for Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, by N85 per litre.
The new price, which took effect on Saturday, September 12, 2026, is N1,350 per litre, up from the previous N1,265.
The latest adjustment marks the fourth increase in the refinery’s petrol gantry price since August 21.
On August 21, the refinery raised the price from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre. It increased the price further to N1,200 on August 26 and N1,265 on August 29.
With the latest hike, Dangote’s petrol price has risen by N185 per litre, representing an increase of about 15.9 per cent in 22 days.
The company announced the new price in a circular issued late Friday by its Group Commercial Operations department.
The circular, titled “Revised DPRP PMS gantry and coastal prices,” stated that the coastal delivery price had also been increased from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne.
It read, “Dear Valued Customer, please find below the revised DPRP PMS gantry and coastal prices, which are effective from 12th September 2026.
“Coastal (MT): The old price of ₦1,669,545 has been revised to ₦1,783,530. Gantry (LTR): The old price of ₦1,265 per litre has been revised to ₦1,350 per litre.
“You are advised to return all ATCs for repricing, and a new volume contract will be issued for immediate resumption of loading.”
ATCs, or Authority to Collect documents, are used by customers to facilitate the collection of petroleum products.
Petroleumprice.ng also confirmed the new gantry price and the corresponding adjustment in the coastal delivery rate.
The latest increase comes amid rising international crude oil prices, with Brent crude recently trading above $104 per barrel after earlier crossing $107.
The surge has been linked to growing supply concerns arising from the prolonged confrontation between the United States and Iran, which has disrupted oil movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
Oil flows through the strategic waterway have reportedly fallen sharply, while attacks on tankers and restrictions on shipping have heightened fears of further supply disruptions.
The developments have placed upward pressure on global crude and refined petroleum product prices.
Officials of the Dangote refinery had yet to respond to inquiries seeking clarification on the latest adjustment as of the time of filing this report.
