Delta Gov Oborevwori, deputy, Okowa dump PDP for APC

After weeks of speculations, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and his deputy, Monday Onyeme, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oborevwori moved to the APC alongside his predecessor and running mate of PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 election Atiku Abubakar, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

Announcing the defection in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Senator James Manager, who addressed the press after a meeting of the PDP stakeholders in Government House, said a formal declaration would be made on Monday.

He said the governor’s defection to the ruling party was for the interest and the overall development of Delta State.

According to Manager, the entire PDP structures in the state had been collapsed to the APC.
