Dingyadi resigns as PDP national chairman’s spokesperson

Yusuf Dingyadi, spokesperson to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially resigned from his position.

The resignation was confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday in Sokoto. Dingyadi, who served as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the PDP National Chairman, had been a consistent and credible voice on party-related matters for over three years.

In a letter dated June 25, 2025, and addressed to the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, Dingyadi expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the party.

“While I appreciate the support and prayers of the PDP family during my stay in this office, I remain appreciative of all the contributions given to me to ensure the success of my assignment,” he stated.

Although he did not disclose the reason for his resignation, Dingyadi has been widely respected for his efforts in promoting party unity and addressing internal challenges. He was a regular presence in radio, television, and print media, where he articulated the PDP’s policies and political agenda.

With a long-standing career in political communications, Dingyadi played key roles in the presidential campaigns of Obasanjo/Atiku (1999, 2003), Jonathan/Sambo (2011), and Atiku/Okowa (2023). He also previously served under the late Minister of Communications, Arzika Tambuwal, and was actively involved in the political movements of Shehu Musa Yar’Adua’s People’s Front, the SDP, the DPP, and Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s administration.

A veteran journalist, Dingyadi worked with notable media organizations including BBC Hausa and Nasiha newspaper, with a career spanning more than two decades.
