Drake: My father is 30% Nigerian

Grammy award-winning Canadian rapper, Aubrey Graham, widely known as Drake, says he is 30 per cent Nigerian.

Drake made the claim after sharing the results of his father, Dennis Graham’s DNA ancestry test on Instagram on Monday, May 8.

He shared the results with the caption: “This is my dad’s results does this mean I’m a Naija man finally?”

DNA ancestry test results reveal information about genetic ethnicity going beyond what people learn from relatives or from historical documentation.

The rapper is one of many black people in the diaspora who have discovered their Nigerian ancestry.

Meghan Markle – the wife of Prince Harry, the son of King Charles III – in 2022, revealed she is 43 per cent Nigerian.

American rapper, Lil Wayne, had also said he is 53 per cent Nigerian.
