DSS arrests doctor allegedly supplying medical aid to Kwara kidnapping gangs

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a medical doctor accused of transporting medical supplies from Sokoto to kidnapping syndicates operating in parts of Kwara State.

The suspect was intercepted in the Jebba axis after intelligence linked him to criminal groups seeking treatment for gunshot wounds sustained in recent clashes with security forces.

According to DSS operatives, the gangs have intensified efforts to secure medical care as operations tighten around them.

A security official warned that the syndicates may attempt to infiltrate health facilities in remote, forest-border communities.

“We urge health centres near forest areas to strengthen security, as these criminals may target them for urgent treatment,” the source said.
