DSS releases Senator Yari

The senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari, has regained freedom from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, was reported to have been grilled and detained at the DSS headquarters in Abuja since Thursday, July 6, 2023.

His release was however announced by the senator representing Kano South, Sumaila Kawu, on his Facebook page on Sunday, July 9.

“God the owner of the generation, Senator Yari is free, we thank God, the leader that has no end,” Kawu, an ally of Senator Yari, stated.

The DSS had earlier debunked the reports making the rounds that the lawmaker was arrested for refusing to answer President Bola Tinubu’s call.

The secret police added that Yari was aware of the reason he was invited by the security agency.
