Economic hardship: 60,000 Ogun students to get N50,000 EduCash award

About 60,000 students of Ogun State origin in all tertiary institutions in the country would benefit from the ongoing N50,000 palliative of the state government, tagged Educational Cash Award for Student Help (OgunEduCash).

The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, made this known in a statement on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

OgunEduCash is an intervention programme for students in all public primary and secondary schools, as well as public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria, to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges on students and their parents in Ogun State.

It was announced in February by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, as part of the state’s palliative measures. Each student of the state origin is entitled to N50,000 cash from the state government.

Arigbabu, however, said students in public and private tertiary institutions would benefit from the cash award.
