EFCC arrests 55 internet fraudsters, recovers guns in Ogun

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.

The EFCC disclosed this via a statement on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

The anti-graft agency revealed that the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested at K Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro area of Ogun State on Wednesday, August 6.

It said the suspects were apprehended following credible and actionable intelligence available to the commission regarding their suspected fraudulent internet activities.

The EFCC listed items recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters to include six exotic cars, two locally-made pistols, one motorcycle, several mobile phones and laptops, incriminating documents, and 89 unclaimed phones, among others.

“They have given useful information to the Commission and will be charged to court soon,” the EFCC added.
