EFCC orders arrest of dismissed staff featured on Lege Miami’s show

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of its dismissed staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he appeared in a matchmaking show hosted by entertainer Lege Miami on social media.

In a statement released Monday via its official X handle, the Commission clarified that Folarin was no longer in its service, having been dismissed for certificate forgery. He had worked as a driver at the EFCC Ibadan Zonal Directorate before his termination.

The EFCC disclosed that Folarin failed to return official items in his possession, including an identity card, which he was required to surrender upon dismissal.

Chairman Ola Olukoyede has therefore directed his immediate arrest for unlawful possession of EFCC property.

“The EFCC condemns in the strongest terms the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami’s social media platforms,” the statement read.

The anti-graft agency stressed that Folarin’s activities should not be associated with the Commission, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy for fraud and misconduct. It also assured that disciplinary measures are always enforced against erring staff.
