Ex-senator, former VC, PR expert endorse Dakuku Peterside’s “Leading in a Storm”

A cross-section of respected figures from politics, academia, and communications have thrown their weight behind “Leading in a Storm”, the new book by Dr. Dakuku Peterside, describing it as a timely and practical guide for leaders navigating disruption in today’s uncertain world.

Senator Daisy Danjuma, Executive Chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum, hailed the work as “a clear, practical guide for navigating crisis and disruption,” stressing its relevance for both public and private sector leaders.

She highlighted Peterside’s emphasis on tools such as contextual understanding, composure, adaptability, teamwork, and continuous learning, calling the book “indispensable for any leader serious about thriving in uncertain times.”

Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin and ex-Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami, underscored the urgency of the book amid global volatility. She noted that Peterside’s thesis—“crisis is the new normal”—offers leaders the competencies of contextual intelligence, strategic foresight, decisive action, and adaptive resilience needed to lead proactively rather than reactively.

Public relations specialist and Chairman of Blue Economy Nigeria Ltd, Lami Tumaka, drew from her experience working with Peterside at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

She described “Leading in a Storm” as “a masterclass in crisis leadership,” praising its focus on resilience, adaptability, and decisive action as practical strategies for turbulent times.

Building on his earlier bestseller, Strategic Turnaround: The Story of a Government Agency, Peterside distils lessons from years of experience in politics, leadership, and public administration into what reviewers describe as a field-tested playbook for navigating volatility.

The book guides leaders to read context, communicate clearly, take tough decisions under pressure, and mobilise teams to adapt and thrive despite challenges.

With endorsements spanning business, academia, and communications, “Leading in a Storm” is already being positioned as an essential resource for leaders across sectors.
