Resident doctors in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commenced a seven-day warning strike on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The resident doctors announced the commencement of the strike via a communique by the association’s president, George Ebong.
Ebong lamented that the health sector in the FCT has been undermined by deep-rooted structural challenges that require immediate and comprehensive intervention.
Ebong stated that doctors in Abuja are being pushed to their limits, often forced to handle responsibilities across multiple departments at once.
