A female official of Globus Bank in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, Amarachi Ugochukwu, has committed suicide, citing the hard economy as the reason for her decision to end her life.

It was gathered that Ugochukwu committed suicide by drinking an insecticide.

It was learnt that the female banker was found dead inside the toilet of the bank with a bottle of insecticide and her suicide note.

The 32-year-old banker, in the suicide note, said nothing was working well for her.

She wrote: “Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up.

“The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore.”

Ugochukwu also apologised to her parents and other members of her family in the suicide note, saying: “I’m sorry mum, I’m sorry dad, I’m sorry Nene, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya.

“Dear Lord, have mercy on me!”

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
