The Federal Government has announced plans to appoint Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, as an ambassador for airport security protocol.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), announced this in a statement on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Keyamo, who disclosed that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will reduce KWAM 1’s ban to one month, said the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will appoint the veteran singer as an ambassador for airport security protocol.
The ministers added that the appointment was part of measures to ensure celebrities help promote proper conduct at airports across Nigeria.

Keyamo stated: “In the case of KWAM 1, the NCAA is to reduce his flight ban to a one-month period.
“FAAN will also work with the music star with a view to engaging him as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol going forward.
“Having publicly demonstrated penitence, the NCAA is also to withdraw its criminal complaints against KWAM 1, earlier lodged with the Police.”
The Fuji maestro had, last Friday, apologised over the incident involving him and ValueJet at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
KWAM 1, who described the incident as “unfortunate”, also denied carrying alcohol in his flask, saying it contained only water.
