First Bank partners Verve to offer free debit cards in nationwide promo

First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank) has announced the launch of the Verve Flash Promo, a special campaign rewarding customers with free Verve debit cards.

The promotion, which started on 6 October 2025, is targeted at FirstBank customers whose ATM cards have expired.

Running until 30 January 2026, the initiative will provide 131 customers daily with free Verve debit cards on a first-come, first-served basis at FirstBank branches nationwide.

Chuma Ezirim, Group Executive of e-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank, highlighted that the Verve Flash Promo is a way of celebrating the bank’s 131-year legacy while delivering customer-centric solutions.

He emphasized that the collaboration with Verve International was part of their shared vision to deepen financial inclusion and improve customer satisfaction by offering convenient, secure, and seamless payment experiences.

Vincent Ogbunude, Managing Director of Verve International, also expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that the Verve Flash Promo is a step towards enhancing access to digital payment solutions for Nigerians.

Ogbunude added that it also underscores Verve’s commitment to providing value to its cardholders and furthering financial inclusion in the country.

In addition to the Verve Flash Promo, FirstBank and Verve have extended the ongoing Verve Good Life Promo, which will now run until 30 November 2025.

This initiative rewards Verve cardholders with 10% cashback when they shop at selected merchant locations, including The Place Restaurant, Quickteller, Buypower, Filmhouse, AlliExpress, Addide Supermarkets, and Chowdeck app every Thursday to Sunday.

Cardholders will also enjoy 10% cashback on the Google Play Store every day of the week. Furthermore, each transaction made using a Verve card — whether on ATMs, POS terminals, or online platforms — gives customers a chance to win up to ₦1,000,000.

FirstBank has long been committed to digital banking and financial inclusion, having issued over 13 million cards to its customers and signed up over 25 million active users on digital channels.

The bank’s expansive network includes more than 820 business offices and 280,000 agent locations across Nigeria, making it one of the largest banking institutions in the country.

Verve International, part of the Interswitch Group, is Africa’s leading domestic payment card provider, delivering fast and secure payment experiences.

With card acceptance in over 185 countries and integration across major platforms like Google, Spotify, and Netflix, Verve continues to lead the way in advancing financial inclusion in Africa.
