Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Mokwa, Niger State, following the flood disaster that claimed over 200 lives and hundreds displaced.
Shettima arrived in Mokwa at about 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The Niger State Government, on Tuesday, announced the recovery of seven additional bodies from the incident.
Niger govt suspends durbar to mourn Mokwa flood victims
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, in a statement, disclosed that four of the bodies were recovered on Monday and one body was recovered in the early hours of Tuesday, while two more bodies were recovered on Tuesday evening in the ongoing search efforts.
Usman added that the recovered bodies had since been buried.
