Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has awarded N3.8 million to the families of the 19 people who died in a car accident on the Zaria-Kano highway.

The Star had reported that the victims, who were from Tusguri village in Sanda Ward, Bunkure Local Government Area of Kano State, were burnt to death.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ganduje, Abba Anwar, the donation was to ease the suffering of the families.

“We received the death with shock and we pray to Allah to forgive their wrongdoings and reward their good deeds with Al-Jannah,” Ganduje said.

The governor further directed the chairman of the council to write to the state government and request for the construction of a primary school in the area.

The village is one of the communities that do not have any school in Kano State.

Governor Ganduje, however, assured that the affected community would be considered for agricultural intervention of the Federal Government in Kano State.

”I assure you that this town will be included in the Federal Government’s dry season farming intervention to help the people of this area,” he said.
