Three passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna-bound train abducted by terrorists on March 28, 2022, have regained freedom.

It was gathered that three released passengers comprised two males and a female.

The latest development was confirmed by the Publisher of Desert Herald, Tukur Mamu, who had served as a mediator between the abductors and the Federal Government.

“Three victims have been released, a female and two male. But remember I’m not part of the negotiation that led to their freedom,” Mamu said.

However, it could not be immediately ascertained if any ransom was paid for the release of the abducted train passengers.

This is coming barely 24 hours after the abductors released a video showing the victims being tortured in captivity.

The terrorists, in the video, also threatened to kill the abducted Kaduna-bound train passengers and sell out others if their demands are not met by the Federal Government.

The terrorists, in June, released 11 of the abductees after N800 million were reportedly paid to secure their release.

The relatives of the abducted victims, on Monday, stormed the Ministry of Transportation in Abuja to protest the prolonged stay of the abductees in the terrorists’ den.

The protesters held placards with various inscriptions which read, ‘Federal Government please release the train attack victims’, ‘Our blood pressure keeps rising every day’, ‘ We hardly sleep with our two eyes closed’, among others.

Family members of the kidnapped victims have since the incident occurred in March been calling on the Federal Government to ensure the freedom of the abductees.
