Glovo has launched its new AI-powered Shopping Assistant for ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to discover products, compare prices and place orders through natural language conversations.
The multi-category technology company said the integration marks its entry into the generative artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem by enabling customers to shop using conversational prompts instead of navigating traditional app menus.
With the new feature, users can make requests such as finding a last-minute gift for a coffee lover within a specific budget.
The AI assistant then performs semantic searches, validates location and curates suitable products available from nearby stores.
Glovo said the Shopping Assistant offers a concierge-like experience by maintaining context throughout conversations, including user preferences and budget limits.
Once connected to either ChatGPT or Claude, users receive a visual carousel of up to five personalised product recommendations, complete with images, store details, ratings and prices.
While product discovery takes place within ChatGPT or Claude, customers complete their purchases through the Glovo app or website after selecting the “View on Glovo” option.
The company said it is initially focusing on the retail and grocery segments, citing growing consumer use of generative AI for product research and shopping recommendations.

According to Glovo, the initiative is designed to help the company capture high-intent customers as online search behaviour continues to shift toward AI-powered conversations.
“We’re always looking for ways to meet our customers where they already are. Being available on Claude and ChatGPT means people can discover what Glovo has to offer as part of a natural conversation, with no friction,” said Shiro Theuri, Chief Technology Officer at Glovo.
Theuri added that the development aligns with the company’s vision of becoming an everyday app that offers greater choice and convenience to consumers.
To use the feature, customers must first connect their Glovo account to ChatGPT or Claude using the Glovo plugin. After syncing the accounts, users can enter @glovo followed by their shopping request.
The AI platform then displays up to five product options. Users who wish to complete a purchase can click “View on Glovo,” which redirects them to the Glovo app or website to finalise payment and confirm their order.
Once the order is placed, the selected store prepares the items while a courier picks them up for delivery, with Glovo stating that orders are delivered within minutes.
