Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has officially inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise in the state, describing it as a key step toward strengthening internal democracy and expanding the party’s membership.
The launch follows Governor Yusuf’s return to the APC on Monday, according to a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Tuesday.
At the inauguration, Governor Yusuf said the e-registration initiative is aimed at modernising the party’s administrative processes and ensuring the credibility of its membership records.
He described the exercise as transparent, inclusive, and technology-driven, emphasizing its role in building a reliable and verifiable database of party members across the state.
The governor urged party members and supporters to actively participate in the exercise, noting that it would enhance trust, accountability, and fairness within the party.
He commended APC leadership for embracing digital tools, saying the initiative aligns with global best practices in political organisation.
“The adoption of technology will not only improve efficiency but also ensure fairness in party activities, including congresses and primaries,” Yusuf said.
The statement noted that the e-registration will be conducted across all wards in Kano State, providing a seamless platform for both new and existing members to register and update their personal information.
The initiative is expected to significantly boost participation and strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of future political engagements.
