The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 75-year-old man, a 60-year-old grandmother, and several other suspects in a nationwide operation targeting illicit drug dealers and traffickers.
In Abia State, Echendu Onuoka, 75, was arrested at Ovum village, Obingwa LGA, with 4.7kg of skunk, while Aukana John, 60, was caught with 225 grams of the same substance at Apanta village.
In Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, a mother of two and major distributor of Canadian and California Loud across Lekki, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Ajah.
The raid at her Lekki residence led to the recovery of 500 grams of the illicit drug.
Other seizures include 275 litres of skuchies — a mixture of blackcurrant drink, cannabis, and opioids — recovered from Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe in Ikorodu.
Brig. Gen. Marwa commended the operatives involved, urging continued vigilance in the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign.
