Aishatu-Dammu Gumi, the mother of Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has been confirmed dead.
It was gathered that Aishatu-Dammu died at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abuja on Sunday at the age of 84.
Announcing the demise of his mother via a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, Gumi said Aishatu-Dammu will be buried on Monday (today) at Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi’s house in Kaduna.
The Islamic cleric stated: “Inna lillahi Wa inna ilaihi rajiun (From Allah did we come and Him shall we return). Today (Sunday) at 5.30 p.m., with a sad heart, I announce the death of my dear mother.
“Please, seek for her Allah’s forgiveness and mercy.

“Her last words to me two weeks ago: ‘In shaa Allah, Allah will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Jannah.’ (By the special grace of God, God will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Paradise).
“These words were very comforting to me,” Gumi said.
In another post, the Islamic scholar added: “Funeral is tomorrow (Monday) at 1:00 p.m. at Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi’s house.
“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
“The mother of Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has died earlier in a hospital in Abuja.
“Her burial will be held tomorrow Monday 06/03/2023 after Azahar prayer at the house of late Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi in Sarki GRA district, behind Lugard Hall Kaduna.
“May Allah have mercy on her and forgive her, may Allah make her an forgiveness for her.”
