Gumi loses 84-year-old mother

Announcing the demise of his mother via a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, Gumi said Aishatu-Dammu will be buried on Monday (today) at Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi’s house in Kaduna.

The Islamic cleric stated: “Inna lillahi Wa inna ilaihi rajiun (From Allah did we come and Him shall we return). Today (Sunday) at 5.30 p.m., with a sad heart, I announce the death of my dear mother.

“Her last words to me two weeks ago: ‘In shaa Allah, Allah will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Jannah.’ (By the special grace of God, God will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Paradise).

“These words were very comforting to me,” Gumi said.

In another post, the Islamic scholar added: “Funeral is tomorrow (Monday) at 1:00 p.m. at Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi’s house.

“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
