Gunmen in police uniform attack PDP campaign DG in Rivers

Gunmen in police uniform have attacked the Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, Dr. Abiye Sekibo.

It was gathered that Sekibo was attacked by the gunmen on Thursday night.

Speaking on the incident on Friday, the DG of the PDP PCC said he was attacked while inspecting the venue of the party’s presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Sekibo, who spoke at a press briefing, disclosed that his car was riddled with bullets, adding that the venue of the proposed rally was razed by the assailants.

“As we approached the site, those policemen who were watching the inferno opened fire on our vehicle.

“I looked at the Hilux vehicles, they were police Hilux vehicles attached to the Governor of Rivers State,” he said.
