Gunmen kidnap 2 Catholic nuns in Anambra

Gunmen have abducted two Catholic nuns along Ufuma Road in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Ikenga noted that the incident occurred when the Catholic nuns were returning from a vocational service meeting in Ogboji on Tuesday evening.

Soludo offers N10m bounty on Anambra burial attackers

The police spokesperson disclosed that a joint security operation was already ongoing for the possible rescue of the two victims.

He added that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations visited the scene for a spot assessment.

Ikenga stated that the command was also working with some clues for the possible arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victims.
