Gunmen have kidnapped a four-year-old boy, identified as Oluwadarasimi Omojola, on Itaji/Ijelu-Ekiti Road in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The abduction of the boy was disclosed by the traditional ruler of the community, Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ogundeyi, via a telephone conversation with newsmen on Saturday.
Ogundeyi said the incident occurred at about 6.00 p.m on Friday.
The monarch disclosed that the boy was returning from Ayede-Ekiti with his father, Boluwaji Omojola, who managed to escape after sustaining a severe cutlass injuries from the abductors.

He said the injured farmer was currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
Ogundeyi said security operatives and local hunters have since been mobilised to go after the kidnappers to rescue the abducted boy.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Sunday Abutu, has yet to confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.
