Gunmen kidnap Kwara APC chairman’s wife, daughter

Gunmen have kidnapped the wife and daughter of Muhammad Swasun, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sakpefu, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the victims were abducted on Sunday night when gunmen stormed the community, firing sporadically to scare residents before taking away the APC chairman’s wife and daughter, alongside a yet-to-be-ascertained number of residents.

Sources identified the abducted persons as Hajiya Fatima, the chairman’s wife, and his daughter, Amina.

“The bandits abducted his wife, Haja Fatima, and his daughter, Amina, and took them to an unknown destination,” a source confirmed on Monday.

The attackers reportedly spent several minutes in the community before escaping with their captives.

The Kwara State Police Command has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.

Patigi and other parts of Kwara North have faced repeated cases of kidnapping in recent months, prompting renewed calls from locals for stronger security measures.

Just a day earlier, suspected bandits launched another attack on Shagbe community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, invading the palace of the Onishagbe of Shagbe. The assailants killed some residents and abducted others during the raid, which reportedly lasted hours without any intervention from security agencies.
