Gunmen kidnap three daughters of Plateau Water Board MD

Suspected kidnappers have abducted three daughters of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Engr. Apollos Samchi, following a late-night attack on his residence in Jos.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday at the family’s home in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area.

A security source told Zagazola Makama that a distress call was received at about 12:53 a.m. on January 26 after residents reported gunshots near Dumac Suites.

According to the source, security operatives who responded to the alert discovered that armed men had forcefully gained entry into Engr. Samchi’s residence and abducted his three daughters—Nanlop Samchi, Kyenret Samchi and Favour Samchi.

During the attack, the family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan, was shot in the stomach by the assailants. He was immediately taken to Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The source said investigations have commenced, adding that security agencies, in collaboration with the military, have launched a coordinated operation to rescue the abducted girls and track down those responsible for the attack.
