Gunmen have killed nine members of a family and many others in Maikatako community, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A resident of the community, Mahanan Job, on Wednesday, disclosed that in the search and rescue conducted by the community members, 18 dead bodies have been recovered so far.
Confirming the incident, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, said the gunmen stormed the community on Tuesday night and started shooting sporadically.

Alabo, who promised to give further details on the incident, said police officers have been deployed to the community.
“Our men are currently going after the assailants; we are on top of the situation, but the details of the attack are still sketchy,” the police spokesperson said.
