Gunmen kill Ebonyi LG chair’s relatives, security guard

Unknown gunmen have killed three relatives of the chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Steve Orogwu.

It was gathered that the relatives of the LG chairman were killed at his home in Ekpaomaka on Tuesday.

It was further learnt that Orogwu was not at home when the incident occurred.

Confirming the incident, Orogwu said the assailants killed his elder brother, two of his brother’s sons, and a security guard.

He said: “They attacked my house at night and killed my elder brother and two of his sons and our security guard.”

He added that the gunmen razed his family house, noting that the corpses of the victims have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki, the state capital.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State Police Command had yet to react to the incident as of the time of filing this report.
