Gunmen kill motorcyclist union’s member in Ekiti

Gunmen have killed a member of the union of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders, in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

It was gathered that the man was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

The middle-aged man, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, was shot dead in broad daylight by the gunmen around the popular Okesa roundabout in Ado-Ekiti.

It was learnt that the incident led to people around the ever-busy area to scamper for safety, as many hurriedly closed shops and offices for fear of reprisals by members of the Okada union.

He was said to have been shot, moments after he asked to know if the gunmen had obtained a ticket for the day.
