Heavy downpour, on Monday morning, ravaged two markets in Kano alongside residential areas.

Kantin Kwari textile market which is largest in West Africa and Kurmi market that specialises in selling Northern traditional artefacts were ravaged by the heavy downpour.

In Kwari, marketers were seen taking some of their textile for spreading at home after they were soaked in water.

Similarly, residential areas such as Yakasai and Mandawari areas were affected by water largely due to blockage of water channels and gutters.
