Usman Maigadi, a guard at Orchard Farm owned by the Emir of Yauri in Kebbi State, Dr Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi, has been killed by a mother hippopotamus.
It was gathered that the animal may have perceived the Emir’s guard as coming to harm its baby, hence the attack in self-defence.
60-year-old Maiyaki was said to have been attacked by a hippopotamus while fishing in Yauri River at Tillo Village in Yauri Local Government of Kebbi State on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
