The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a man identified as Taufiq in the Sabuwar Gandu area for allegedly engaging in witchcraft.
Deputy Commander of the Board, Sheikh Mujahid Aminudden, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, saying it followed multiple complaints from residents.
According to him, locals reported being unsettled by Taufiq’s alleged activities, prompting an investigation that led to his arrest.
“After concluding our findings, Hisbah operatives moved in and arrested the suspect,” Aminudden stated.
The Board said Taufiq will be charged to court for allegedly practicing witchcraft, an offence prohibited under Kano State law.
