Journalists covering the homecoming of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, were attacked by hoodlums in Lagos State on Sunday.
It was gathered that the journalists were attacked at the Adeniji end of Isale Eko after the former Lagos governor paid a visit to the Oba of Lagos.
The former Lagos State Governor returned to Lagos on Sunday twelve days after clinching the APC presidential ticket.
The APC presidential candidate was welcomed by a mammoth crowd at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The Star had reported that Tinubu polled 1,271 votes out of the 2,303 accredited delegates to emerge as the ruling party’s presidential candidate.
The governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, who was the Chairman of the Election Planning Committee, declared the APC chieftain as the winner of the party’s presidential primaries held at Eagle Square between June 7 to 8, 2022.
Amaechi garnered 316 votes to come second in the primaries.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo came third with 235 votes while Senate President Ahmad Lawan came fourth with 152 votes.
Since then, Tinubu had visited some of the presidential aspirants and APC leaders as part of consultations ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
