How Davido gifted Daverel new car amid online criticism

Content creator and influencer Davrel has claimed that Afrobeats star Davido gifted him a new car after noticing that he was being heavily criticised on social media.

According to Davrel, the singer reached out to him after seeing people dragging him on X, formerly Twitter, and decided to lift his spirits with an unexpected gesture.

Recounting the incident, Davrel alleged that Davido instructed him to visit Sarkin Mota, a popular luxury car dealership, and select any expensive vehicle of his choice.

“Davido saw people dragging me on Twitter and told me to head to Sarkin Mota, pick any expensive car I want, and when I get there, I should call him,” he said.

The revelation has generated mixed reactions online, with many fans praising Davido for what they described as another display of his generosity toward friends, colleagues and supporters.

However, some social media users questioned the circumstances surrounding the gesture, with others suggesting it could be a publicity move involving the car dealership.

Others also argued that receiving an expensive vehicle comes with financial responsibilities, noting that maintenance costs should also be considered.

Davido has built a reputation for making generous gestures toward fans and associates, with his latest reported act once again sparking widespread conversation across social media.
