Ijaw group hails PAP boss Otuaro for Niger Delta scholarships

The Ijaw Youths Network (IYN) has praised the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for his commitment to peace, education, and development in the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued on Saturday by its National Coordinator, Frank Ebikabo, and Secretary, Federal Ebiaridor, the group commended Otuaro for the recent award of over 3,000 scholarships to students of Niger Delta origin, describing the initiative as a major boost to human capital development in the region.

The group also lauded the deployment of 161 beneficiaries from impacted communities to universities in the United Kingdom under targeted educational programmes.

According to the IYN, Otuaro’s educational initiatives are among the most effective strategies for promoting sustainable peace and progress in the Niger Delta. They urged him to remain focused and ignore attempts by detractors to distract him from his mission.

Ebikabo and Ebiaridor expressed optimism that the region — and indeed the country — would continue to benefit from Otuaro’s visionary leadership and investment in education for years to come.

The group also commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his strategic supervision of the PAP and his role in maintaining peace in the Niger Delta.

The IYN further called on youths across the region to prioritize the Niger Delta’s interest in the 2027 elections and to support Dr. Otuaro’s call for continued backing of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“We have observed with keen interest the deployment of over 3,000 Niger Delta indigenes for scholarship programmes within and outside the country, including 161 in UK universities for the 2025/2026 academic year,” the statement said.

“We commend Dr. Otuaro for his impressive performance and urge him to stay focused despite distractions. We also encourage Niger Delta youths to support the PAP and the Tinubu administration, which has demonstrated genuine concern for our people.”
