Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he is a devoted fan of Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming the pair communicate regularly.

The singer made the disclosure during a livestream with content creator and streamer Carter Efe, where he spoke about his admiration for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Davido said he supported Portugal during the recently concluded 2026 FIFA World Cup because of his close relationship with several players in the national team.

“I have a lot of friends in the Portuguese team. I wanted Portugal to win,” he said.

When Carter Efe suggested his support was driven by Ronaldo, Davido responded, “I love Ronaldo. I’m a CR7 fan.”

The award-winning artiste went further to claim that he frequently exchanges messages with the football star, saying in Pidgin English that he and the “legend” chat regularly.

To back up his claim, Davido briefly displayed what appeared to be a conversation with Ronaldo on his mobile phone during the livestream.

The revelation left Carter Efe visibly stunned, repeatedly expressing disbelief as the moment unfolded.

The video has since gone viral across social media platforms, attracting reactions from fans.

Davido has long been known for his passion for football and has previously been spotted with several international football stars.
