‘I’m in pain’: Ibom Air passenger recounts prison ordeal

Comfort Emmanson, the passenger discharged by the court after an unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight, says she is still in pain.

The Magistrate Court sitting in the Ogba area of Lagos State discharged Emmanson after the withdrawal of the five charges preferred against her by the police on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

The passenger was earlier remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre as she couldn’t meet her bail conditions.

Taking to Instagram shortly after her release on Wednesday, Emmanson said she is still in pain over how “I was treated”.

She also expressed her appreciation to friends and supporters, adding that she needs medical treatment before giving details on the incident.

She wrote: “Thank you so much for all the prayers, love, and support. I’ve been released from prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event.

“I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless y’all. THANK YOU MY GREAT GOD!!!”
