The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled bye-elections in two Rivers State constituencies—Ahoada East II and Khana II.
In a notice released on Tuesday, INEC confirmed that voting will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, starting from 8:30 a.m. at all designated polling units in the affected areas.
The commission urged eligible voters to participate peacefully and exercise their civic duties, assuring that all necessary arrangements will be made to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.
INEC also called on political parties, candidates, and their supporters to comply with electoral guidelines and the provisions of the Electoral Act.
Security agencies have been asked to maintain law and order before, during, and after the polls.
The bye-elections are aimed at filling vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly, restoring full legislative representation for the residents of Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies.
