The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has apologised for the delay in releasing results for candidates who sat the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, April 17, 2026.
The board had earlier indicated that the second batch of results would be released on Saturday but failed to meet the timeline, leading to frustration among candidates.
In a statement on Sunday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, attributed the delay to the temporary unavailability of the board’s chief executive due to official duties.
He assured candidates that the results would be released later the same day, before nightfall, and expressed regret to those who had waited in anticipation.
The development follows the earlier release of the first batch of results from the April 16 examination, which saw over 600,000 candidates receive their scores.
JAMB advised candidates to check their results via SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
