Jibrin dumps NNPP for APC, declares support for Tinubu

Former Director-General of Tinubu Support Groups, Hon. Abdulmumin Kofa Jibrin, has formally returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The announcement was made on Sunday in Jibrin’s hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano State, before a gathering of over 2,000 Ulamas, who offered prayers for his return to the APC.

Jibrin simultaneously renounced his membership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by former Kano State Governor Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Speaking on his return, Jibrin said the event was marked by widespread community support.

“In a show of solidarity, I was warmly received by thousands of my constituents in my hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano.

“The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya, join the APC, and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office,” he stated.

He added that the Ulamas prayed for the President, as well as for peaceful coexistence, progress, and development in Kiru/Bebeji, Kano, and across Nigeria.

Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin currently represents Kiru/Bebeji Constituency in the House of Representatives and played a key role previously as Director-General of Tinubu Support Groups.

His return to the APC is expected to strengthen the party’s support base in Kano ahead of the 2027 general elections.
