Governor Uba Sani
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, says the state has recorded significant progress since he assumed office, despite inheriting deep-rooted challenges in security, infrastructure, and social development.
The governor spoke at a workshop for senior government officials organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations during the Nigeria Public Relations Week 2026 in Kaduna.
According to him, his administration moved beyond incremental reforms and adopted a structured governance approach anchored on measurable outcomes, ensuring ministries and agencies operate with clear targets and accountability.
Sani noted that his government’s agenda is built on seven key pillars, including security, infrastructure, institutional strengthening, trade and investment, agriculture, human capital development, and citizen engagement.
On security, he said collaboration with federal authorities led to the establishment of new military bases in flashpoints such as Giwa, Birnin Gwari, and parts of Southern Kaduna.
He added that over 150 operational vehicles and 500 motorcycles were deployed to security agencies, alongside the creation of a joint task force to tackle urban crime.
The governor disclosed that more than 20,000 hectares of farmland previously affected by insecurity have been reclaimed, while over 1,000 displaced persons have been resettled, with ongoing support for thousands more.
In education, Sani said the state has constructed hundreds of classrooms, renovated existing ones, and recruited 10,000 teachers.
He added that the number of out-of-school children has dropped significantly, reflecting targeted interventions and community engagement.
He also highlighted improvements in healthcare, including the upgrade of 255 primary healthcare centres, the establishment of centres of excellence across local government areas, and the delivery of a 300-bed specialist hospital.
On infrastructure, the governor said about 150 road projects covering over 1,300 kilometres are ongoing across the state to boost connectivity and economic activity.
He further revealed a sharp increase in agricultural funding, expansion of fertiliser distribution, and the enrolment of over 100,000 farmers into crop insurance schemes, alongside efforts to promote agro-industrial processing.
Sani said Kaduna has attracted investments worth over $743 million between 2023 and 2025, with a pipeline of additional projects pushing the total investment portfolio beyond $3.5 billion.
He added that social intervention programmes have expanded financial inclusion, with millions of new bank accounts opened and billions of naira disbursed to support households and small businesses.
While acknowledging that challenges remain, the governor maintained that security is improving, economic activity is picking up, and Kaduna is on a steady path toward growth and development.
