Kaduna govt condemns fresh killings in Zangon

The Kaduna State Government has condemned the attacks on the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state which led to the loss of several lives.

The deputy governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, condemned the killings when she led some state government officials to the Agwatyp, Dominic Gambo  Yahaya, in his palace on Wednesday.

Speaking at the palace of the Agwatyp, Balarabe, who conveyed the condolences of the Kaduna State Government to the people of the area, said the state government had since last week been working with the military and other security agencies on the killings.

She further directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to carry out an immediate assessment and provide assistance to the affected citizens.

In his response, Yayaha, who thanked Balarabe and the Kaduna State Government officials for the visit, expressed sadness over the violent attacks which he described as “shocking, coming after a period of relative peace amidst many spirited efforts by well-meaning individuals to promote peaceful coexistence among all people living in the Chiefdom.”

Others in attendance were the Administrator, Kafanchan Municipal Authority, Pheobe Sukai Yayi, and the Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government, Francis Sani.
