The committee, which includes representatives from key ministries, agencies, and institutions, held its inaugural meeting to outline its mandate and set a roadmap for action.
The main focus is to coordinate and monitor adherence to consent procedures governing mining operations throughout Kaduna.
At the meeting, members discussed establishing clear objectives, defining individual roles, and building a framework for effective collaboration.
They emphasized the importance of community engagement, environmental protection, and strict regulatory compliance in line with federal and state mining laws.
Reaffirming its commitment to sustainable and transparent mining practices, the state government noted that the committee will be instrumental in streamlining consent processes and advancing efforts to attract responsible investment in Kaduna’s solid minerals sector.
