Kano govt announces Eid-el-Kabir holiday for schools

The Kano State Government has announced the official Eid-el-Kabir holiday schedule for all primary and secondary schools across the state.

According to a statement issued by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, the holiday break will commence on Wednesday, 4th June 2025.

Boarding students are expected to return to school on Sunday, 15th June 2025, while day students will resume on Monday, 16th June 2025.

Parents and guardians of boarding school students have been advised to make arrangements to pick up their children early on Wednesday, 4th June.

The statement emphasized that aside from the Eid break, all other elements of the 2024/2025 academic calendar, including public holidays, remain unchanged.

Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, extended his gratitude to parents and guardians for their continued cooperation and urged them to ensure that their children return to school promptly after the break.

“I sincerely appreciate the unwavering support of the people of Kano towards the Ministry of Education.

“I wish all our students and pupils a peaceful and joyous Sallah break,” the statement concluded.
