The Kano State Police Command has arrested 193 suspects and recovered weapons and illicit drugs following a series of raids on criminal hideouts across the state.
The operations were conducted simultaneously across identified black spots between April 10 and 12, 2026, under the direction of the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, and in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on strategic surveillance and community-based policing.
All 11 area commanders in the state led the operations.
Items recovered during the raids included 51 cutlasses, 15 knives, 41 clubs, 72 rubber solutions, 69 sachets of Pregabalin, 259 Exol tablets, and a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The command said investigations were ongoing and that patrols, surveillance, and monitoring of identified hotspots would continue across the state.
Bakori commended the officers involved for their professionalism and thanked members of the public for providing timely information, which he described as vital to the success of the operations.
The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through its emergency lines.
