The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has declared its willingness to join forces with any coalition aimed at removing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power at both state and national levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration came during a PDP stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi, where party leaders also expressed optimism about resolving internal disputes currently affecting the party.
Speaking to the press, party chieftain Ibrahim Mera said the state chapter is fully committed to supporting any credible alliance designed to dislodge the APC.
He also confirmed plans to hold the state congress early, pending approval from the party’s national leadership.
“We are ready to work hard and mobilise support to ensure the success of any initiative aimed at ending APC’s rule,” Mera stated.
Also addressing the gathering, Kebbi State PDP Chairman, Usman Suru, urged citizens to endure the current economic challenges, assuring them that relief and better governance were possible under a restructured political leadership.
Former PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, General Aminu Bande (retd.), condemned the rising economic hardship under the APC administration, accusing the ruling party in Kebbi of using arbitrary arrests and intimidation tactics against opposition members.
“I will support the PDP and any movement committed to removing the APC and restoring good governance in Kebbi State and Nigeria,” Bande said.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its grassroots structures in preparation for the 2027 elections.
