The Kogi State Government has announced the closure of schools for the ogovernorship election slated for Saturday, November 11, in the state.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, made the declaration in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 8.

Jones stated that all schools in the state must be closed from Friday, November 10, for the election.

The commissioner stated: “The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, hereby directs all institutions at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels be closed from Friday, November 10, to Tuesday, November 14.

“This became imperative in view of the state governorship election slated for Saturday.

“However, normal academic activities will resume on Wednesday, November 15.

“By this directive, all schools are expected to comply accordingly.”
