The Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of Iddo Bridge in the Ijora area of Apapa Local Government Area for five days to facilitate ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction works on the bridge.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the closure would enable the Federal Ministry of Works to install heavy steel bridge beams as part of the reconstruction project.
According to him, the operation will take place between June 17 and June 21, 2026, with work scheduled from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on some days and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 21.
Osiyemi said the entire section of Iddo Bridge would be temporarily shut to vehicular movement during the periods to ensure the safe installation of the steel beams.
He explained that the closure forms part of traffic management measures put in place to support the launching of steel beams for the rehabilitation project being executed by the Federal Ministry of Works through the Office of the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos.
The commissioner urged motorists to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic management officials during the temporary closure.
