No fewer than two members of the Benue State House of Assembly and a yet-to-be-ascertained number of people were injured in an accident involving the convoy of the state governor, Samuel Ortom, on Friday.
It was gathered that the accident occurred on Friday morning when Governor Ortom and the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were travelling to Utokon in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State for the party’s governorship campaign rally.
It was learned that the accident occurred when the driver of a bus with the PDP members lost control and rammed into three vehicles; a Jeep, a security vehicle, and another bus in the convoy.

Many people including the lawmakers representing Guma and Kwande West in the Benue State House of Assembly were said to have been injured in the incident.

Others in the governor’s convoy were the deputy governor of the state, Benson Abounu, House of Representatives and House of Assembly members from Benue South district, and other government officials.
